A new home for the new year
There are currently a handful of stylish three and four bedroom houses built and ready to move into on The Square and The Village Green Collection at Heyford Park.
These homes have been carefully designed and thoughtfully crafted throughout producing spaces you can live, work and relax in. Show homes are available to view and get a feel for the high specification that these homes have to offer.
Dorchester Living also has a range of houses available to reserve from plan now, with the first houses due for completion in early 2017. These three to six bedroom houses are part of a new phase of Heyford Park called The Gardens. A variety of house types are on offer with names that reflect those of characters from Jane Austen novels, such as The Bennett, The Fairfax and The Darcy.
Dorchester Living’s aim is to create an exciting sustainable hub for enterprise, culture and living at Heyford Park. At the end of October this vision reached an important milestone when Cherwell District Council gave the green light for plans to create a new state-of-the-art village centre.
Focusing on a service-based lifestyle of the residents and those who live in North Oxfordshire, the new village centre will be like no other in the country - pushing the boundaries of design and the types of services on offer.
Acknowledging the history of this former US airbase is at the heart of the thought process around the design and plans. The design looks to repurpose two former RAF buildings, using contrasting, modern materials to extend the spaces, making them more suitable for communal use.
The end result will provide flexible open spaces with an abundance of natural light as well as period features from the original buildings.
The village centre scheme is being designed by award-winning architects Jestico + Whiles. The practice has proven expertise in delivering excellent and sustainable designs within major urban regeneration schemes involving the refurbishment of historic buildings, including Spitalfields and Borough Market in London.
Providing a unique experience, the new village centre is to offer a range of aspirational services and facilities including a family friendly American style brasserie, boutique hotel, delicatessen and market hall, café and brunch bar, two terraces, external seating, co-working spaces, play areas and a landscaped area.
Heyford Park is being built on the former Upper Heyford US airbase. In the 1970s, the site was inhabited by 15,000 American servicemen and had the largest airfield in Europe. The site has a rich and colourful history – it is said to have been one of the first places in the UK to have a pizza parlour and a bowling alley.
As part of the regeneration of this former airbase, developer Dorchester Living is refurbishing many existing buildings on the 1,231 acre site and creating attractive recreational areas and facilities including, The Heyford Park Free School (built 2013), a church and community centre, a village green with a cricket pitch created to Sports England standards along with a cricket pavilion, a play area and a fitness track. Work has already begun on the village green and is set to be completed for the 2017 cricket season.
Commenting Jeanne Evett, Sales and Marketing Director at Dorchester Living said: “We are very excited about creating new community spaces that the residents of Heyford Park be proud of and inspired to use. Heyford Park really will be a village like no other in Oxfordshire and we can’t wait to help more people to find a dream new home here.”
The houses on The Square are priced from £302,995 and on The Village Green Collection from £359,995. For further information about the new homes at Heyford Park or to arrange a viewing of the show home, contact the marketing suite on 01869 238 238 or visit heyfordpark.co.uk.
