Be Spellbound

In March, Welsh National Opera bring a brand new production of Chorus! to Milton Keynes Theatre
Where else will you see a newspaper-reading lion?

Chorus! is a fully-staged extravaganza of some of opera’s greatest moments, featuring much-loved soprano Lesley Garrett and the impeccable WNO Chorus.

Like opera itself, Chorus! captures the full spectrum of human emotion from joy to despair, hope to fear. This fully costumed compilation piece will take you on a helter-skelter ride through opera’s greatest moments, from Carmen to Il trovatore, Madam Butterfly to Nabucco. In addition to Chorus! WNO also perform The Magic Flute at Milton Keynes Theatre this spring. Mozart’s The Magic Flute is arguably the most popular opera of all time. A tale of young people finding their place in the world, this warm, fun and witty production is guaranteed to make you smile. After all, where else will you see a newspaper-reading lion and a fish that’s also a bicycle? And the fairy tale ending to WNO’s Spring Spellbound Season comes in the form of Humperdinck’s Hansel & Gretel. This deliciously dark interpretation of the well-loved Brothers Grimm tale will be devoured by anyone with a wicked sense of fun and fantasy. This production is visually stunning and presents the art of opera at its most imaginative. Tempted?
