Blue Cross Burford
Blue Cross finds homes for more than 6,000 animals every year and treats 30,000 pets whose owners cannot afford private veterinary fees. They have been dedicated to the health and happiness of pets since 1897 and, with your help, can continue long into the future.
On Sunday 21 September 2014, sponsored by Henmans Freeth, Blue Cross will be holding their annual Burford Ramble. The challenge will be to walk 5km (or 10km if you want to do the course twice) around the private meadows surrounding the Burford Rehoming centre.
This is a unique event as you will be walking around the meadows and walkways which are off limits to the general public. Here you will get to see the many horses in the charity’s care grazing in the fields as you enjoy the stunning surroundings the centre has to offer.
This event is open to everyone, dog owners and non-dog owners; there is a registration fee of £10.00 per person (children under 16 go free). This fee entitles you to free refreshments, entry into a free prize draw to win a luxury hamper (donated by the Co-Op Carterton) and a goody bag.
Last year over 100 people took part in the walk. Blue Cross would like even more people to join the fun this year.
After you have completed your walk stay for a bit longer and enjoy the BBQ, temptation alley and tombola. Indulge in the cakes and visit Blue Cross’ rehoming centre to see some of the pets looking for new loving homes. Visit the website to register.
