Burford Sixth Form is a large and vibrant community with over 200 students. Students go on to a range of top universities, including Oxford and Cambridge. Others study a mix of A-levels and Level 3 BTEC qualifications, moving on to university, college or into employment.
The sixth formers are fully involved in the life of the school taking part in a wealth of activities including sports, debating and performing arts. Many undertake the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award and some take part in our exchange trip to Uganda. Team work and entrepreneurship are developed through the Young Enterprise Scheme, extra-curricular activities and the Sports Leader Awards.
Students leave at the end of Sixth Form as confident and enthusiastic young adults, instilled with the values and skills to succeed in whatever challenges they may face. Do take the opportunity to visit Burford for yourselves at the forthcoming Open Evening.
The open evening is Thursday 27 November 2014, 7.00pm-9.00pm.
‘Students make good progress overall in the sixth form because of consistently good teaching based on teachers’ strong subject knowledge’ (Ofsted 2014).
