Didcot Street Fair Bake Off

14 year-old baking ace wins first ever Didcot Street Fair Bake Off; Emma Culliford is Star Baker!
Heavenly Mince Pies...

15 and 16 November saw the first ever Didcot Christmas Bake Off! Contestants gathered at the Civic Hall to ‘prove’ how much they ‘kneaded’ to win the title!

The bake off was held over two days. On the first day, contestants brought in their creations from home and were judged in 7 different categories. The winners of each category were then sent home with a recipe to bake at home and bring in the next day for judging.

The first ever Didcot Christmas Street Fair Star Baker was judged to be 14 year-old Emma Culliford, who won the Victoria Sponge category on her way to the final.

The judges were Great British Bake Off contestant Christine Wallace and baking expert Lou Hatter who judged the 6 adult and 2 children’s categories and were impressed by the skills of the local amateur bakers.

The winners were…

Victoria Sponge and Star Baker – Emma Culliford

A Choir of Cupcakes – Charlotte Marriott

Novelty Christmas Cake – Justine Wood

Best Thing Since Sliced Bread – Hina Islam

Heavenly Mince Pies – Terri Slatter

Decorated Christmas Cake – Marion Spence

Children's Winter Wonderland Cupcakes – Ethan Caley
