“KidsArcade is not encouraging people to spend huge amounts of money on designer labels. We are championing talented small labels out there that are creating a huge and interesting children's market and getting them to sell their wares direct to the public who may not be aware that they exist"
KidsArcade is a children’s lifestyle shopping fair showcasing a collection of exciting independent labels & brands including fashion, toys and everything in-between…
It will be appearing regionally throughout the year.
On Saturday 6 June, in the safe and beautiful Great Barrington Village Hall, just west of Burford in Oxfordshire, nestled in the spectacular Windrush Valley…kidsArcade will launch its first ever event: The Cotswolds Edition.
Rachel Bisiker has over 15 years of experience as a Photo Editor on various titles including InStyle Magazine and is one of the visionaries behind kidsArcade. She told us about how the company came to be and what the events will be about...
“When I left London to live in the Cotswolds two years ago I started doing kids fashion for a local magazine. It just struck me how huge the children's market has become and what amazing diverse products are available but how little of it is seen outside of London.
“Also I noticed that there are very few shops catering for children around the Cotswolds, even though it’s a very family friendly region, and a lot of people are bored of the same old on the High Street.
“My business partner Fran Lee and I came up with the idea of bringing lots of these brands that we have found and doing a pop-up event that’s fun and exciting with lots of kids’ activities going on – so that children are happy while their parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles etc. can all shop uninterrupted and relaxed!
“We are not encouraging people to spend huge amounts of money on designer labels.
“We are championing talented small labels out there that are creating a huge and interesting children's market and getting them to sell their wares direct to the public who may not be aware that they exist. It’s about beautiful handmade clothing from a mum who’s at home setting up a small online company. There are talented mothers out there who have turned their talents/hobbies into creating beautiful things for little people who will love them!
“Small independent designers predominantly make up this event. A lot of them have been carefully curated and chosen by us to suit what we feel is our audience in the Cotswolds.”
The hope going forward is that kidsArcade will pop up in lots of different locations and become known for lovely things for little people.
It’s a shopping experience with a difference for everyone to enjoy brought to your doorstep in a beautiful environment.
