New GCSE Provision at The Unicorn School
Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy for those pupils who require it
Exciting developments are underway at The Unicorn School. This year we open our doors to our first Year 9 class, and we commence our GCSE provision in September 2016. This is a significant change for us, enabling us to extend The Unicorn School’s unique ethos to encompass secondary education.
The Unicorn School is a leading, specialist day school for pupils with dyslexia, dyspraxia and dyscalculia, and those who need support with Speech and Language. Our school is open to girls and boys from 6-14 years of age, and we will shortly be expanding our age range to encompass GCSE provision.
The Unicorn School provides a nurturing environment in which every pupil is helped to build self-confidence, appreciate their learning difficulties and develop their own personal learning style. All our teachers are specialists in working with dyslexia and related difficulties, equipping our pupils with the strategies for learning that will enable them to succeed in their future education and beyond.
Our class teachers follow the national curriculum, and tailor their delivery to make the subject matter accessible to pupils with specific learning difficulties.
In addition, every pupil at The Unicorn School receives daily one-to-one tuition with a specialist teacher.
Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy are provided in-house for those pupils who require it.
2015 is an enormously exciting year for all of us as we complete the transition from preparatory school to primary and secondary school, and we hope that you will share our enthusiasm.
