Oxford Wine Festival 2015
Besides being a beautiful building the Oxford Union is the most important debating society in the world, and it rarely opens its doors to the public
21-22 August, The Oxford Union
There’s still a few places remaining at our Master of Wine led masterclasses - this year these include "Rhone Grapes and Blends" with Sarah Abbott MW and "Cool Climate Australian Wines" with Laura Jewell MW. Many regard cool climate Australian wines as the future of the Australian fine wine industry, so here's a chance to find out why, in the hands of one of the world's leading wine experts.
We're delighted to confirm that we have award-winning local street food companies Smokeyard Kitchen and Lord & Lady Food Co at the festival to help line those stomachs and stimulate those taste-buds, while anyone looking for even greater levels of decadence can head over to Georgette's deli for gourmet cheeses and artisan Belgian chocolates to accompany their wines.
While you're at the festival we hope you will also take a moment to look around the venue itself. Besides being a beautiful building the Oxford Union is the most important debating society in the world, and it rarely opens its doors to the public. Since its founding in 1823 the Union has hosted hundreds of world leaders, revolutionaries, and celebrities, many of whose photos you can see on the first floor landing. See if you can find a certain "Professor A. Einstein" attending dinner in 1933!
