Beatrice Hoffman is based just outside Oxford, and creates expressive and stylised/abstracted heads, figures and abstract forms suitable for being displayed both in the garden and the home.
The smaller and medium sized sculptures, both figurative and abstract, are made mostly in clay to be cast in bronze (resin). She also carves stone, wood and polystyrene, especially for large works or public commissions ranging between 1.50 and 2.50m.
She has been shortlisted for a life size public commission to be positioned beside the main entrance of the Northampton hospital, and is currently preparing initial sketches and moquettes for it.
For Open Studio on the 14th/15th and 21st/22nd of May, from 2-6, she will open her studio, house and garden full of sculptures to the public, in the small village of Garford, just south west of Oxford. She will demonstrate stone carving all four days between 5-6 in the evening, working in the finished stages on a life size figure entitled "Walking Man" .
Beatrice Hoffman also offers sculpture workshops at various times, for all ages and abilities – please consult her website for details!
