Taste grasshoppers and squid ink with Victoria Glass, the Museum’s new Food Writer in Residence
This fantabulous little Museum in Great Missenden, aimed at 6 to 12 year-olds and their families, has a wealth of wondercrump workshops and events lined up this Autumn. On Saturday 18 October, join Great British Bake Off star Glenn Cosby fresh from his one-man show at the Edinburgh Festival, for an hour of fun, chocolate and cakes.
Get busy over half-term week making a trick-or-treat sweetie bowl, an Augustus Gloop chocolate pot or a Witchy Wonka Bar. Taste grasshoppers and squid ink with Victoria Glass, the Museum’s new Food Writer in Residence and meet authors Philip Ardagh (Grubtown Tales) and Elys Dolan (Weasels).
There are over 40 hands-on activities and displays about Roald Dahl’s life and stories in the galleries, as well as free storytelling and drop-in crafts at weekends and in the school holidays. Venture out on a Countryside or Village Trail around Great Missenden to see the places that feature in the stories – perfect for a crackling autumnal walk. Then treat yourself to something from Café Twit’s mouth-watering range of home-made soups, sandwiches and cakes. A visit to the Shop will reveal a treasure-trove of books, toys, gifts and pocket-money items. Visit roalddahl.com/museum.
