At the National ESSA Swimming Finals, our team roared home as National Under 11 Freestyle Relay Champions – no mean feat by any means
Thanks to hard work in the pool, attending early morning development and swim squad sessions, weekly curriculum lessons with our own swim coach, Neil Jackson, coupled with sheer determination, encouragement and commitment to the sport, our team of four extremely talented girls lifted their cup with pride. Annabelle Vallance, Lottie James, Theodora Wornham and Florence Miller were all excited to reach the podium for their medals.
As if that was not enough, Florence Miller aged 11, put in an outstanding solo athletic performance in track and field events at the National IAPS Athletics Finals. Florence became the 100m National Champion, finishing in a staggeringly swift 13.46 seconds and breaking the national record that has stood for a number of years. Not content with one win, Florence later became the National Long Jump Champion, jumping a magnificent 4.53m.
These are just a small part of a hugely successful and buoyant PE Department, where every child is encouraged to have a go. There are so many opportunities each year, with some additional exciting competitions in biathlons, triathlons and even horse riding events!
Whether you are talented or merely enthusiastic about sport and exercise, there is sport for all here at The Manor. A diverse offering of gym, dance, football, hockey, netball, swimming, touch rugby, cross country, rounders and athletics on the curriculum, coupled with additional clubs in golf, judo, ballet, tennis, cricket, badminton and table tennis ensure that whatever you want to do, you can do it here – come along and try for yourself!
