If you are looking for fine dining in Oxford, then there are a few restaurants you can choose. However, if you want modern and innovative fine dining, there is only one. Based in Summertown just a few miles from the city centre, The Oxford Kitchen is all about modern dining. The contemporary design of the restaurant offers an intimate and sophisticated feel, while retaining a relaxed atmosphere.

The food is innovative and surprising, a nice departure from the very traditionally focused menus of other fine dining restaurants. Executive Chef John Footman and Head Chef Gerd Greaves bring a wealth of experience to The Oxford Kitchen and have also ensured there are dishes with a novel twist around every corner. Expect to find yourself choosing between a confit duck, hoisin, wild rocket and spring onion pizza and Curried Orkney scallop, crispy pork belly, celery root puree and golden raisins.

To choose from is a seasonal menu, a set menu for lunch/supper and an extensive children’s menu as well. A fantastic champagne afternoon tea is also available every afternoon.

Although this is a fine dining experience, The Oxford Kitchen has created an atmosphere which is certainly not pretentious. It is also welcoming to families and very accommodating for special dietary needs. Described by one critic as ‘fine dining with its tie off’, The Oxford Kitchen is fast creating a reputation as the best place to eat in town.
