Tom Parker tears through Didcot
The former boy band member rode through the Oxfordshire town in Greas’d Lightning, ahead of appearing in Grease the Musical at the New Theatre Oxford next year.
Tom Parker has amassed worldwide success with his band The Wanted, achieving two UK number 1s and nine top 10 singles as well as 4 Billboard 100 singles. The band have had three platinum albums, two sold out arena tours, and 3 million singles sold in America.
Didcot’s musicals-themed parade also featured the Batmobile, cast members from Didcot Phoenix Drama’s pantomime and the Reading Scottish Pipe Band – plus, there was live entertainment from the Rock Choir and Laura Lee.
Event Organisers said “Thanks to everyone who came out to enjoy another Great Didcot Christmas Street Fair. We had perfect weather, a great atmosphere, wonderful entertainers and delicious street food.”
Grease is the original high-school musical featuring everyone’s favourite characters – Sandy, Danny, the groovy T Birds, the sassy Pink Ladies and the whole gang at Rydell High – and all the unforgettable songs from the hit movie including ‘You’re The One That I Want’,’ Grease Is The Word’, ‘Summer Nights’, ‘Hopelessly Devoted to You’, ‘Sandy’, ‘Greased Lightnin’ and many more.
The cast will be led by The Wanted’s Tom Parker in his first ever theatrical role, heart-throb Danny Zuko, coming to New Theatre Oxford from Tuesday 28th March for one week only.
