Valentine’s Flowers: How to choose the best
"Valentine’s Day falls when spring flowers are in abundance"
At Fabulous Flowers we love Valentine’s Day – a day just for love is a great day to be part of, and what better way to say ‘I love you’ than with a fabulous bouquet of flowers.
As a designer, independent florist, I go to great lengths to source the highest quality flowers available and our highly skilled team of florists create statements of love that get noticed.
Our customers are a real bunch of romantics, and over the years we have played a part in some amazing gestures of love, such as delivering a 100 red rose bouquet with an engagement ring in the middle and completely filling a suite in a hotel with 1000 pink roses. The best thing about being an established florist is the relationships we build with our customers and we have many that we have created the proposal flowers for, and then the wedding flowers as well.
It’s a great privilege to play a part in these special occasions and we even keep a record of all our wedding flowers so that we can help with favourite varieties and colours when it comes to choosing the right flowers for this special day.
When it comes to Valentine’s Day, the red rose is still the most popular flower choice, but not everyone is a lover of red so we create an amazing selection of romantic bouquets with a different theme every year. This year we are asking our customers if they are a Latin Lover or a Ballroom Romantic with our ‘Strictly Valentine’s’ selection.
One thing we know from experience is that Valentine’s is not a day to get it wrong, so here are our top tips for having a fabulous day.
- This is not a day for buying a supermarket bouquet or grabbing a reduced bunch of flowers from the petrol station on the way home – prepare well in advance.
- Be aware of cheap, too good to be true deals by online florists who send out postal boxes of poor quality flowers. To find the best florist in your area check out the Good Florist Guide.
- You don’t have to buy a bouquet of red roses to show your love – Valentine’s Day falls when spring flowers are in abundance, so a pretty posy of scented spring blooms can say ‘I love you’ equally well.
- Ask your florist for advice when choosing flowers, as we are the experts and we know how to create the ultimate love statements.
