Wallingford Rugfest 2015

19/20 June 2015, Hithercroft Sports Park, Wallingford. The very best musical talent from across the country

Ostrich burgers to Noodles

Rugfest – now in its seventh year and hosted by Wallingford Rugby Club,

this ever expanding summer festival offers fans the very best musical talent from across the country, tons of activities for all the family and a superb range of beverages and cuisine.

After last year’s musical extravaganza that included a stand out set from Hue & Cry, this year the organisers are delighted to announce that The Christians, the outstanding, soul influenced group who had hits in the late 80’s and 90’s including ‘Forgotten Town’, ‘Harvest For The World’, ‘Born Again’, ‘Ideal World’, and ‘Hooverville’, will be headlining Saturday’s stage joining other bands already announced Land of the Giants and festival favourites Will and the People.

But that is not all, Rugfest will also be hosting: The Americana brilliance of The Mojo Slide, the fabulous Alternative folk of Flight Brigade who join The Revue and The Unusual Suspects to complete our Friday night line-up.

On Saturday the music just cannot be pinned down with Normanton Street fusing Hip-hop soul and spoken word, The Novatones providing some energetic Britpop, The Original Rabbit Foot Spasm Band offering jump-jive, Hope and Glory adding ska nuttiness, Fleur Stevenson mixing in a little jazz and Quadrophobe adding their usual blend of badger inspired insanity.

If this massive mix is not enough to whet your musical appetite then the return of RSVP Bhangra to the Hithercroft should be enough to get everybody jumping; a lot of styles and something for everyone, possibly the reason that this festival continues to grow in popularity.

Rugfest truly is a family event and little ones will be spoilt for choice this year. There’s everything from Trampolines to Jan’s Blackboard Van, Zorb Balls to an Arts and Crafts tent. It doesn’t stop there; Bouncy Castles, Bungee Runs, Blow up Boxing, high flying trampolines, Face Painting and, if they’re still standing,  a two hour disco; just for kids!

Enjoy all this with a local tipple of your choice. Variety is the key with freshly made cocktails from the mixologists of Wallingford's Old Post Office, plus Loddon Ales, Cotswold Lagers and chilled ciders from across the country.

A variety of fresh and tasty hot food is available throughout the event, including some of your favourites but some new ideas from Ostrich burgers to Noodles and Curry.

Rugfest is a fun packed weekend for the whole family and priced very reasonably:

• Friday night session: £10.00
• Saturday day pass: £15.00
• Weekend pass: £20.00
• Under 16s when accompanied by an adult: Free!
